The newest tape from V/Z is top notch, with bigger beats that your usual dub fare. At different points I’m reminded of the rhythm and atmosphere of DJ Shadow or Dean Blunt tracks. There’s all kinds of pleasing little textural and rhythmic moments that reward a close listen but it’s also pure vibes, music for just head nodding along. Fans of their previous work (as V/Z, or as members of blog favorites Holy Tongue and Vanishing Twin) will love this, as will old heads and anyone who loves UK electronic music with an experimental edge.
