Our friends (I don’t actually know them I just like their sounds) at Ampacity have excitingly seen fit to grace us with a new album this year! Their previous LPs, “Encounter One” (2013) and “Superluminal” (2015) were both gateways for me into heavy fuzzed out nodding space rock when I was really starting to investigate the genre in 2019. I guess I never really gave much thought to if they’d release another album or not, and accepted what we had as all there was.

Hard driving instrumental kraut/space rock with a prog edge to keep things interesting as the cosmic cruise carries you along its various avenues of cosmic investigation. There’s a driving momentum behind everything that’s being played, even when it feels like it’s in one spot marinating on a motif, the synth swirls float by like clouds of cosmic vapor, as the working drums function to propel you on forward as the stars slowly streak around you.

All ahead full, captain.
