This is an classic live bootleg and the companion piece to Chris Forsyths now legendary studio album Solar Motel (2013.) Solar Live 11/15/13 was recorded during the album release show for Solar Motel in Philadelphia and consists of the full 40 minute 4 part title track played in two sections, split across both sides of the LP. The material comes full circle during this concert. Improvised jamming became a studio album before again becoming a jam as the now fully formed material is explored live. Sets like this exemplify what I love about the creative cycle of improvisational psychedelic music.

The energy on this one is super high and it’s got a great mix that retains both the explosive power of the rhythm section and the heat of the lead guitars. As it says on the record: for gods sake, turn it up! I am lucky to have a copy on vinyl and it’s a great pressing and package- one that is strikingly similar to a couple other vinyl bootlegs in my archive. I would love to know who made these so if you have the info, drop us a line. Fortunately you can scoop the HQ digital on Bandcamp complete with a bonus track. Fans of classic east coast art rock, loud guitar jams and anyone who already has Solar Motel in their collection should check this recording out.
