Buffalo Daughter is a massively underappreciated Japanese rock/psych band and this 2021 comeback album (their first in 7 years) is especially overlooked. It’s a bit darker and more electronic than their previous records and that keeps with the future forward theme- it’s a darker, more electronic world after all. Still We Are The Times is still as catchy and accessible as their best work, and has no lack of good old fashioned riffage and deep brown guitar solos.

I saw them on this tour and it was one of the best sets I’ve ever seen in my life. I cannot overstate how good it was. They’re often compared to The Flaming Lips and I do see that, but their capability of a live band far exceeds Wayne & Co. Their shows and records must not be missed by any serious psych fan.
