I love this solo record by blog-favorite Angel Deradoorian (Decisive Pink, ex Dirty Projectors.) It’s a true solo record with everything played, written and impeccably produced by Deradoorian. I’d say she’s equally talented at all those things, and therefore exceptionally skilled at making a complete work herself like this.

The myriad of styles and influences on this is as varied as anything by other blog-favorite self producers like of Montreal or Ween. The songs recall stuff like early electronic, krautrock, dub, chamber pop, disco and soul and they serve as both a loving tribute and genuine exploration of these styles. This is an amazing and masterful record that’s a lot of things while remaining very focused and essentially Deradoorian. Easily one of the best records of 2025.
