This album is another beautiful gift from the ever evolving relationship between traditional Irish and American music. The title says it all: traditional Irish music lovingly performed on pedal steel guitar. Sometimes ambient, sometimes engaging, there are moments of just pedal steel and passages with a full ensemble.

The whole record is wonderful from start to finish. I hope there’s more to come from David, perhaps with his live band “Ether Ensemble.” Fans of traditional music, chamber music, ambient pop and folksy cinematic compositions ala Penguin Cafe or Joe Hisaishi will really enjoy this.
