The second album by blog favorites Papangu finds their prog just as brutal as ever and still with plenty of jazz fusion influences. However the addition of more pronounced Brazilian sounds from both folk and pop traditions really elevates the whole sound.
It’s a concept album worth of it’s Zeuhl lineage, and as an English speaker most of that’s lost on me lyrically but the scale and arc of the thing very much translates. It’s got that epic prog feel but again it’s more grounded than the first with the roots music moments in a way that makes it easy to listen to.
