I love this tender and groovy pop album. Its sweet and melancholy with wonderful production and delicate instrumentation centered on percussion and synths. There’s flavors of central America (literally) and central America (Midwest USA) in it’s thoughtful but hazy vibe.
Valebol is a new duo consisting of blog favorite percussion/multi instrumentalist Daniel Villarreal & singer/multi instrumentalist Vivian McConnell. Fans of calming but danceable synth pop will love this record. It’s instantly accessible with it’s breezy atmosphere and catchy songwriting but there’s rich detail and genuinely deep grooves- think Pearl and The Oysters or the more danceable Stereolab tracks.
