A wonderful collaborative album between the legendary American psych collective Sunburned Hand of the Man and Finnish krautrock band Circle. Like the finest krautrock (and pretty much every album by any self styled collective,) they jammed live to tape for hours and hours before cutting it down to 40 exceptional minutes. The jams ares careful and deliberate while still loose. The record blends free and folksy sounds with gentle, head nodding rock improvisations and just a dash of psychedelic freak-outs. The result is a gem in both bands’ discographies. Unrelentingly trippy but easy on the ears, the Blaze Game is a classic that shouldn’t be forgotten.
