The Afghan-American artist (now based in Eindhoven NE) known for the band The Myrrors returned with a singular and amazing third solo record.

This record was planned to be the studio debut of the project, but returned to a classic psychedelic home-and-elsewhere recorded collage. I think this may have been a secret boon. The record retains the colorful, immersive and often chaotic, Faustian psychedelic mixing of the projects previous records (and The Myrrors.) However there’s a tightness and focus in the material that’s new and extremely impressive. The Afghan folk influences and the post punk/garage influences come through strong with no cleanliness required.

There’s a sang- keep it tight, so you can hang loose. I think that captures the vibe here pretty well. Strong material and performances that could already succeed as a clean, political folk rock album is elevated with heady approach to playing, recording and mixing that echoes the best krautrock and experimental/improvised music. The end product is a psychedelic work of the highest caliber.
