You didn’t ask for it, but here it is: an additional series from your favorite modmin.
Along with the Softer Shades of Psychedelia, I am officially starting the Ween of the Week segment. This can be entire shows, interviews, clips, segments of shows, B-sides, etc. Anything my smoke-addled mind chooses to unleash upon you.
To begin, one of my all-time favorite live Ween shows and one that sadly does not have a physical release:
Live in Zurich ’97 remains to this day one of the most awe-inspiring performances Ween has ever delivered. Some of the best versions of celebrated songs in their catalog are within this show. It is brilliantly played, and is a perfect snapshot of later 90s Ween. It is both loose and tight, psychedelic and greasy, brash and tender, melodic and discordant.
If you only want to listen to one track out of the show, listen to the Tear 4 Eddie. Truly psychedelic and face melting.
Can you taste the waste?
