Trevor Powers, formerly and once again known as Youth Lagoon, continued his shift into distorted but delicate experimental music under his own name. Unlike 2017s (also excellent) Mulberry Violence, 2020 Powers has abandoned vocals and his pop roots almost completely in favor of warped samples and gentle, immaculate synth and piano work.

Capricon was recorded (as many grat records are) during a self imposed mental health retreat from modern society at a cabin in the woods. With well applied field recordings and spaciousness, it sounds natural and organic and life giving. Trevor must have found what he was looking for.
