Barry Walkers most recent solo work and his most energetic and busy as well. You might know him for his ambient records or as a player in Rose City Band. He plays several string instruments but is most known for his pedal steel and on Shoulda Zenith the full scope of his musical interests are explored through it.

There’s absolutely some fully ambient passages and a relaxed tone is generally present. Repetitive and rhythmic sections recall subdued psychedelic rock, while other parts are more overtly trying to rip open your third eye with a big ole yee-haw.

Fans of electric psychedelic Americana or stripped back psych music shouldn’t miss this album. Pick up his previous one while you’re at it.
